Kitchen Countertops

Finding the perfect surface for your kitchen can be somewhat of a challenge with so many different types of countertops available. There is so much available in kitchen counters. From synthetic materials like Corian, Formica, Ceramic tiles to engineered stone such as Zodiac stone or Silestone. Types of natural stone like granite, marble, sandstone, slate, travertine, soapstone are from all over the world with no two pieces identical. Traditional materials for counter tops are still used such as wood and laminate. Concrete, stainless steel, glass, and quartz are becoming popular.

The choices can be confusing when trying to coordinate the kitchen counter top to the color and decor of the kitchen. The surface area needs to be a suitable working area with durability to resist scratches, stains, chipping, cracking, and resistant to water, heat, and chemicals. The surface also needs to have easy cleanup and maintanence and be easily repaired if needed.


Granite countertops

Stainless steel countertops

Commercial stainless steel countertops are no longer confined to the restaurant kitchen. Stainless steel counters are finding their way into everyday homes and for good reason. Stainless is less expensive than granite and easier to install than concrete countertops, it can be fabricated and formed into just about any size as one piece without seams, and it looks terrific in a contemporary or traditional home.
